Another Key Question:  "I work for a company that produces RFID products; our company sees the very large potential for RFID applications but in some respects it has been more challenging to sell RFID products than it was to sell Bar Code products.  What advice do you have for our company regarding hiring employees?"

RFID Recruiters and RFID Overview

  Founded in 2004,
RFID Recruiters
(“RFIDR”) specializes in providing recruiting services for companies and individuals involved with Radio Frequency IDentification technologies, products, applications, and services.

Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) is a method of remotely capturing, storing, retrieving, and communicating data using devices called RFID tags. An RFID tag is a small object, such as an adhesive sticker, that can be attached to or incorporated into a product or other item. Each RFID tag contains an antenna and a semiconductor which enable the tag to receive and respond to radio frequency (wireless) queries from an RFID transceiver; transceivers are often referred to as a "reader" (or an "interrogator").

Typically, tags and readers communicate with each other over distances ranging from several centimeters to several meters - but longer ranges (100 meters or more) are possible.  Readers can in turn be connected via a Local Area Network and/or a Wide Area Network to computing systems that record the location and other information captured by each reader.  This system architecture enables computer systems to track RFID tagged items wherever readers are located.

Initially, RFID tags are often considered as an enhanced alternative to UPC barcodes, having a number of important advantages over the older barcode technology.  RFID codes are long enough that every RFID tag may have a unique code, while UPC codes are generally limited to a single code for all instances of a particular product. The uniqueness of RFID tags means that a specific product or other tagged item may be individually tracked as it moves from location to location.  This wireless tracking capability can provide valuable visibility into the movement and location of each tagged item and in this manner RFID systems provide a platform for automating the management of supply chains and other workflows.

Additionally, many workflows beyond enhanced bar code applications are being automated with passive (non-battery) and active (battery powered) RFID technologies - while other applications are being enabled with related technologies including NFC (Near Field Communications), sensor, and M2M (Machine to Machine) technologies.  RFID, NFC, sensor, and M2M applications are being envisioned and implemented in virtually every vertical industry.

The current, emerging, and potential applications of RFID and related technologies are now generating a demand for experienced professionals who are capable of creating and harnessing innovative value propositions.  Both provider and user organizations are seeking employees with RFID experience to harness the productivity benefits and competitive advantages made possible by RFID and related technologies.  Additionally, many of the best and brightest individuals with Information Technology and business expertise are re-focusing their energies to participate in the high growth anticipated for RFID.

RFID Recruiters and our NFC Recruiters, Sensor Recruiters, and M2M Recruiters business units are committed to contributing to the development of the RFID, NFC, sensor, and M2M industries in a way that makes businesses more productive and people happier.

The mission of RFID Recruiters, NFC Recruiters, Sensor Recruiters, and M2M Recruiters is to help the best companies and the best individuals find one another in a manner that brings into being the best RFID, NFC, sensor, and M2M technologies, products, applications, and services.
